South Brandon's
Student Handbook
By: Eliza Burton
Ok, so here are the basics:
School Colors - Red&&Blue
Mascot - Beaver
Grades - 9-12
Although our school isn't known for the best football or cheerleading team, having the smartest or richest kids, we have something better. It is diversity. Having every type of student imaginable. Loners to druggies, preps to punks. Labeling is awful. But, you can't expect it to end. Now, although every school is diverse, most aren't rewarded for it. Ours is. We are nationally acclaimed for being, well, weird and different.
But, having a school will so many different types of kids isn't exactly a walk in the park. It takes understanding of the different cliques, whether you loathe or worship them. We all have this intense secret bond, that is only as big as a hair. No one is sure of what this bond is, but we never question its power.
Even though its frowned upon, we all 'mingle will the enemy' if you will. Lets face it, being buds with someone as smart as you, dumb as you, basically the same as you for four years isn't that great. Therefore, we all talk to the other cliques. Some keep is secret, others don't care what their peers will say. Those are the brave ones. The clique leaders stick with the clique, and messing with that can be dangerous.
Some rule the school, others just go there. Some want to be the leaders, others just want to get through the day without havoc or mayhem. People are unique. Yet, we're all the same deep down.
Have a good year.
